We asked them the exact question and gave 5 choices – Printing paper, Kraft paper, Tissue paper, Newsprint, and Cardboard.

And from the responses that were received from the audience, we found out that the most demand in paper industry was for Kraft paper and Printing paper as these both were ranked higher than the others.

To our surprise, the Duplex paper that was added by one of the audience gained third place in the survey of most demanded papers in the industry.

Why Kraft and Printing papers are most demanded?

We all know that kraft paper is known for its strength. It is used mainly for packaging.

The key benefit of kraft paper is that it is 100% eco-friendly.

Kraft paper has replaced the single-use plastic hugely over time.

It can be manufactured easily out of previously used papers and has no negative impact on the environment.

This factor has given attention to kraft paper worldwide and thus there is an increase in the demand for it.

On the other hand, printing papers have a huge variety to choose from.

Different types of printing papers are used for different purposes like newspapers, notebooks, magazines, catalogs, brochures, digital printings, copying, etc.

Printing papers has a business, commercial, as well as household needs.

Let us take a look at the printers. Certain printers can print well on their dedicated papers. These papers are manufactured only for that type of printers.

For example, Epson. Now Epson is the type of printer that will give the best results only when used with the Epson’s Premium Glossy Photo Paper

Initially, we added 5 options for users to select from.

However, we discovered that the Duplex Board was added by one of our users and it gained an ample amount of votes to secure the third position in the race.

Duplex board paper is a two-layered paperboard or cardboard sheet.

It is smooth and coated from the outer side and often comes as water-resistant.

Duplex boards are generally used to make thin boxes to carry lightweight articles like cigarettes, pharmaceuticals, etc.

We would say that Duplex boards are also one of the important items that have replaced the single-used plastics and are serving in the protection of the environment.

Some unexpected results that came our way while we were trying to figure out the most demand in Paper Industry

It came to us as an unforeseen outcome that the tissue papers were in the fourth position.

Honestly, we thought that tissue papers would score a good number as they are used regularly and almost are unreplaceable by any other thing.

However, the results are in front of you. We can conclude that the market for printing and kraft papers is more than tissue papers.

The Newsprint Papers, Cardboard, and A4 size papers are someones that still hold a position in the race.

From our survey, it was found that –

41% of paper manufacturers said that Kraft paper was the most demanded type of paper in the paper industry.

39% of paper mill professionals voted for the printing paper and said that printing paper gave them more business than any other type of paper.

16% of the paper mill owners are gaining business from the duplex board papers.

3% and 2% of them said that their business was acquired from the Tissue papers and Newsprint papers respectively.
